Launch of new accommodation "Yurt" at Loughcrew Megalithic Centre on Sunday 14th May between 3-6pm. A yurt is a portable round tent that can sleep up to 6 people comfortably inside. Everyone welcome to attend the showcase of this unique structure on our campsite. Free tours and lots of activities for kids on the day.

Loughcrew Yurt Accommodation
Yurt accommodation is commonplace in Asia and particularly in Mongolia and is now becoming popular in Ireland and the British Isles. A wood-burning stove is also fitted in the yurt to enhance your living experience even further by providing warmth all year round. The yurt sits on a high quality deck and there is an outer seating deck area to lounge around, sit and take in the magnificent sunrise and sunset over the Loughcrew Cairns.
Decking area around the yurt makes it the perfect getaway for holidays, functions, family outings and festivals. Our site has a children's playground, a charming museum, an event hall and a delightful café all in an inviting courtyard complex.
Living in the Loughcrew Yurt in the heart of the countryside, allows you to experience the rich landscape of the Boyne Valley. From our yurt, take a exhilarating walk to the highest point in Meath and enjoy breath taking scenery. The stunning Loughcrew Megalithic Tombs (older than the Pyramids of Egypt) are here, and when you look out into the horizon you have a panoramic view of eighteen counties in Ireland on a clear day.
The peaceful campsite and the earthy smell of the native flora and fauna will let you escape to another world. In the tranquil Loughcrew area find your favourite fishing spot, unique golf courses, forest walks and romantic castle trails.
The Loughcrew Yurt can sleep up to eight people or you can steal away and live here by yourself in the peace and quiet of the Loughcrew Hills. Booking is essential to reserve this accommodation.

The Show Yurt which is the one featured on our website is capable of sleeping up to 8 people depending on the bed layout or can be used for any other purpose or event. A little bit of imagination is all that's required to determine its suitability to any other use as we tailor make the yurt to the size you require. Booking by appointment is essential.
