What Is Loughcrew Megalithic Centre?
Loughcrew Megalithic Centre is a place that offers accommodation, food and beverages, a unique Heritage Cottage and cultural events. We also have toilet facilities for people visiting Loughcrew Megalithic Cairns and tourist information on the local area and beyond.
What can you do here?
First of all it is walking distance to the Cairn T, the most famous of all the Cairns located on the hills. Guided tours are available as well as information on the site and local area. Feel free to explore by yourself, leave your car safely here and we will point you in the right direction.
At our coffee shop you can choose from a range of meals and beverages which can be enjoyed in the courtyard of our Heritage Cottage.
This cottage offers people a trip back into the past. With furniture from many decades ago and stories by the score. It is an education for younger people and an eye opener when they realise what life was like back then. It will trigger memories for the older generation and times long forgotten comes rushing back.
There is also a playground for the kids and the young at heart. There is also a kids art corner where they can create and design their own pictures.

Want to explore more of the area, we can recommend local hidden gems that will be right for you. This can range from Christian monasteries, extensive forests, fish rich lakes, souterraines, cheili music at pubs, restored gardens, Norman castles and many more.

Backpackers can avail of our hostel which has 16 beds at budget rates. This hostel is converted cottage and has all modern cons.
The outdoor explorers and budding survivalists can check out our campsite at the far end of our site. Surrounded by fields and rolling hills with forests not too far away. You can lose yourself in nature while still being walking distance from our facilities.
Campervans, RVs, and any vehicles for sleeping in are catered for.
We have power outlets, loads of bays and room to spread out, toilet emptying facilities and picnic benches with views of the area.
