Loughcrew Spring Equinox 2017
It’s that time of year again when the days are getting long and a special event happens at Loughcrew. Celebrate this wonderful spectacle and relax with some intimate events at Loughcrew Megalithic Centre. Full details below:
Sunday 12th March
15.00 – Equinox Art Exhibition by Dave Gavin, Elanor Thompson & Sandra Nelson.
- Dave: is known for his colourful pieces of abstract art and was featured on Irish Tv in 2016. He has created unusual collage pieces as well as large contemporary and colourful pieces of artwork. He believes art has no boundaries and likes to think his art will intrigue and brighten up any room.
- Elanor: Art has always played a leading role in Elanor’s life. Irish Landscape, History, Myths and Legends are all inspirational and her style varies according to the subject or character she wants to convey, from realism to high colour abstracts’’.
- Sandra: Is an Artist and Workshop facilitator who has been working within the healing arts for 10 years. Loughcrew’s 5000 yr old Heritage site is the inspiration of her current paintings which are in honour of the Cailleach’s divine female energy whilst bringing attention Cairn T and nearby sister stone circles. All works are acrylic on canvas.

16.30 – Equinox Art Exhibition – Your chance to meet with & discuss the techniques and inspiration of our Equinox exhibitors.
19.00 - Ancient Echoes - Courtney Davis explains the inspiration behind his Celtic art, followed by mythical storytelling by Treasa and musical accompaniment by Phil.
